In this six-message series, Pastor Anthony Mangun deals clearly and concisely with scripture’s teaching on the Deity of Christ. As each message links to another you discover more and more about Jesus Christ – He who was, and is, and is to come. From Old Testament to New Testament, Pastor Anthony Mangun adeptly directs you past questionable traditions and historical myths, to the truth declared in God’s infallible Word.
DVD ONE: The Doctrine of Christ
Webster tells us the word doctrine means “something that is taught” or “a principle or position…a system of beliefs.” The Doctrine of Christ begins with the Old Testament description of Jehovah God – and brings Him to life in the New Testament’s account of the life and ministry of Jesus Christ.
DVD TWO: “Whom Do Men Say That I Am?”
The question asked long ago seems to echo through the ages. Everything hinges on the simple question: “Whom Do Men Say That I Am?” and its answer. When we move from “Some say…”to proclaiming, “Thou art the Son… “then power is released in us and in the world in which we live. This message clearly refutes the erroneous and human explanations of who Jesus Chris is not – while proclaiming just as clearly who He is.
DVD THREE – God In Christ
Paul wrote to the Corinthians, “…that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself.” The truth of the divinity of Christ – our sinless Savior – is as infallible as the Word itself. To Timothy, Paul said, “…God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.” He is still the mighty God in Christ!
DVD FOUR – The Gospel
The Good News proclaimed by Jesus and then His disciples is still Good News today. The truths shared are timeless. The message of the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ still resonates in the lives of redeemed men and women today – sinners saved by grace. In Luke 24:47 we find our purpose as 21st century apostolics, …that repentance and remission of sins shall be preached in His name…”
DVD FIVE – Jesus The Man
While the previous lesson reminded us of the incarnation – the absolute divinity of Jesus Christ – this message keeps in perspective that Jesus Christ was fully God and fully man. As a man He hungered; as God He multiplied the loaves and fishes. The God who never sleeps or slumbers, as man, almost slept through a storm. Was He God? Absolutely! Was He Man? Undeniably! 1 Timothy 2:5 clearly states, “For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men. the man Christ Jesus.”
DVD SIX – Our Lord Jesus
Upon seeing Jesus risen from the dead. Thomas fell to his knees and cried. “My Lord and my God.” Peter would later write, “We were eyewitnesses of His majesty.” While we know Him to be the might God in Christ – and claim His as Savior – we must finally also acknowledge Him as Lord of all. This message on the Lordship of Jesus – the final message in the series – bring us to the conclusion that He is God…He is Messiah…He is healer, deliverer, and Savior…and ultimately, He is Lord of all!
